Welcome to our latest CGWire and Kitsu update! Over the past three months, we’ve been hard at work, and we’re excited to share all the progress, new features, and improvements we’ve made. Let’s dive in! 🚀
Kitsu Updates 🦊
We’ve continued building on top of the v1.0.0 foundations, with a focus on flexibility, security, and deeper customization:
1. More Entities in the Production Schedule 📊
You can now schedule sequences and edits alongside shots and assets. It’s a more complete way to plan your production and align timelines across different levels.
2. Stronger Two-Factor Authentication 🛡️
Studios now have better visibility and control over security, with a 2FA indicator on the People page and the ability to enforce 2FA across the entire organization.
3. Plugins in Project Menus 🧩
Plugins can now be added directly to project menus, making it easier to integrate custom tools into everyday workflows and access them without leaving Kitsu.

Infrastructure Updates 💽
This quarter focused on improving reliability and performance across the platform.
We made video normalization more robust, ensuring smoother, more consistent playback, while a series of code optimisations and infrastructure tweaks delivered overall performance gains across Kitsu.
Events 🎫
The highlight of this quarter was definitely the very first Kitsu Summit, and what a day it was! 🎉

Held in Paris, we brought together production professionals, technical directors, and studio teams for a full day of talks, discussions, and real-world insights on using Kitsu across animation, VFX, and games.
A huge thank you to all the speakers, attendees, and partners who made this event possible. It was amazing to see the community come together, and we’re already thinking about what comes next. 👀

Beyond the Kitsu Summit, we also had the chance to attend Tokyo ACTF in March, another great opportunity to connect with teams and share what we’re building.
Next stops: FMX in May and Annecy MIFA in June. If you’re attending, come say hi! 👋
Finance 💰
Things remain stable on the financial side, which is reassuring in the current climate. We’ve continued to maintain steady operations while preparing for the next phase of growth.
To support this, we’ve taken out a loan to invest in our sales efforts, helping us reach more studios, strengthen our presence in key markets, and continue building momentum around Kitsu.

Communication 🗣️
Following the Kitsu Summit, we’ve been sharing the talks with the community so more teams can benefit from the insights discussed during the event.
On the content side, we’re improving the blog with translations in three languages, making it more accessible to our growing international audience and easier to explore Kitsu in your native language.
